TRAVEL REVIEWS: DINERS

The LateNite Rollers LOVE food. During our travels our favorite kind of places to go are diners. Many of these are very close to some of our favorite rinks. We've been to some really good ones and some horrible ones, so we thought we's share some of our experiences. We also have our own Yelp page linked below. Hope these are helpful!

The atmosphere is really nice. It has the retro diner feel but everything almost looks new and it seems very updated. Large portions and not bad prices. We've tried the BLT sandwich, the Glazed Ham entree, and their Mac n Cheese entree. Everything we've tried has been delicious. The Mac n Cheese alone can serve two people. Servers seem very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The meals always came out faster than expected, especially since it seems like nothing is prepared beforehand. This has become one of our new favorites.

This is definitely one of our favorite places to eat. We go here almost every time we travel to Guptill's Roller Skating Arena. We've tried a large selection of items off of their menu and every thing has always been wonderful. They have very good prices and you get a great meal. Depending on what you order you can get a pretty large portion. We always get mozzarella sticks to share along with our entrees and sometimes it even takes us a while to recover before we can skate.

The staff here is almost always perfect and courteous. We have only ever had one experience with a server being not that fantastic. Otherwise the service is always great and we've even got into conversations with them about skating before. The manager also usually comes around and makes sure everyone is having a good experience. The menu and food is delicious and just the style we like. Certain meals do come with chips instead of fries which some of us didn't really enjoy. They do have amazing desserts though. If you finish your meal and can still fit in some dessert I highly recommend it.

Their menu was absolutely huge; I doubt any of us read half of it. The prices weren't too bad, and each person's total came to much cheaper than we expected. Our server was pretty good, even after we forgot to tell her we needed separate checks. The food came out relatively quick. We shared an order of mozzarella sticks and they were one of the best we've ever tried. All of our meals came with decent sized side salads or soup. We will definitely be visiting this diner again.

We have only gone once and it was for breakfast. We have never seen what the lunch or dinner menus look like so we can't attest to the rest. However we had a pretty good breakfast. Only two of us went and we both got the french toast (one being with strawberries & bananas). Their lemonade was also delicious. We both left full and the meal was pretty good. Our server was also very nice and checked on us a lot.

The food is pretty good, but the menu is a bit small. We've been there a couple times from when we would go to Whitehall Skateaway and usually the servers are very nice. The inside setup and atmosphere is a bit different, but in a really good way. There will be some items on the menu that are just okay, but usually leave with a good experience.

This diner was recommended to us by a local, however we didn't have that great of an experience and it put a huge damper on our trip. Our waitress gave us lots of attitude from the minute we sat down. We always try to make things easy for our server because taking care of six people at one table can get a little confusing but she honestly made it very difficult for us. She came over very little for check ins and we didn't see her much. Most of us got entrees which were supposed to come with rolls that we never received. Out of what we did receive two of the meals were made incorrectly.  Four of us had chicken incorporated somewhere in our meals and the chicken was actually pretty good. However one of us got a cheese steak sandwich that tasted so bad it wasn't eaten. At the beginning of our meal we did what we always do and requested separate checks. Our server said that was no problem which contradicts what happened at the end of the meal. When the end of our meal came she handed us one check and told us to have the hostess separate it at the front counter. So we all had to crowd around the front counter while we individually told the hostess again what we had all ordered. It was very strange and uncomfortable because we were in the way of the door and other customers. The hostess then proceeded to give us more attitude and attempt to argue with us about who ordered what. When she printed out our new individual bills we informed her that they were incorrect and someone had been charged something that they didn't order. The hostess then told us "It's only a couple extra dollars, just pay for it." We were so frustrated at this point that we just did so and left. Within an hour of leaving every single one of us had an upset stomach, which ruined the first half of our skate session at Ron A Roll.

We had some difficulties with this one. The food was kind of okay but nothing to get excited about. Some of us didn't even eat our meals. They also had a supposed "salad bar" that was included with certain entrees that consisted of potato salad, macaroni salad, unpeeled shrimp, lettuce, and dressings. Yes you read that right. There was nothing to put IN your salad like tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, cheese, carrots, etc. Simply romaine lettuce and Italian dressing. Which they charged about $10 for. We had to stop for more food at Panera Bread right after so we wouldn't be hungry for the session.

BAD IDEA. This "diner" is the worst place we have ever been to. We barely knew who our server was the entire meal. We were brought food by multiple different servers that was meant for other tables and was not ours (that we did not accept). All five of us had things wrong with our meals that we were finally brought. We all ordered different types of milkshakes and all agreed they tasted strange. The menu was overpriced, the food wasn't very good, and we have never experienced service as bad as this was.
